【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodutilizesalaboratoryspacesoarrangedthatitsimulatesapairofhorizontallyadjacentsmallofficesorroomsseparatedbyapartitionandsharingacommonplenumspace.Thepartitioneitherextendstotheundersideofacommonplenumspaceorpenetratesthroughit.Intheprescribedconfiguration,specialdesignfeaturesofthefacilityensurethattheonlysignificantsoundtransmissionpathisbywayoftheceilingandtheplenumspace1.2Withinthelimitationsoutlinedinthesignificancestatement,theprimaryquantitymeasuredbythistestmethodistheceilingattenuationofasuspendedceilinginstalledinalaboratoryenvironment.Byaccountingforreceivingroomsoundabsorption,thenormalizedceilingattenuationmaybedetermined.1.3Thetestmethodmayalsobeusedtoevaluatetheattenuationofcompositeceilingsystemscomprisedoftheceilingmaterialandothercomponentssuchasluminairesandventilatingsystems.1.4Thefieldperformanceofaceilingsystemmaydiffersignificantlyfromtheresultsobtainedbythistestmethod(seeSection,SignificanceandUse,andTestMethodE336).1.5Theproceduresmayalsobeusedtostudytheadditionalsoundinsulationthatmaybeachievedbyotherattenuationmeasures.Thiswouldincludematerialsusedeitherasplenumbarriersorasbackingforallorpartoftheceiling.1.6Thefacilitymayalsobeusedtostudytheperformanceofanintegratedsystemcomprisingplenum,ceiling,andpartition,testedasasingleassembly.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
